San Diego’s New Parking Meters: What You Need to Know

San Diego is about to see some notable changes with the introduction of new parking meters this month. City Heights, Kensington-Talmadge, and Normal Heights are the lucky neighborhoods getting meters equipped with 2- and 4-hour time limits. City officials are hopeful that this move will revamp parking management and make it easier for visitors and businesses to find parking.

Those parking spots on El Cajon Blvd and Adams Avenue better prepare—operation meter installation is underway! With the new meters operating from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Sunday (holidays excluded), it looks like there may be fewer parking headaches ahead.

The city has made sure to keep residents in the loop, notifying property owners and community members of these changes since January. Who knows, maybe the introduction of these shiny new meters will lead to a smoother parking experience? After all, nothing says progress like a well-managed parking space!
