Edwaun Walter Thames, 39, found himself in a precarious situation after being pursued by San Diego Police for driving a stolen vehicle. Instead, he sped away, weaving through streets until he crashed into a light pole. Exiting the damaged vehicle, Thames reached for an object resembling a firearm, prompting Officer Henry Ingram Jr. to take action and shoot him.
