Couple Donates Land for Affordable Housing in Nova Scotia

In an incredible act of generosity, Amy and Paul have turned their 46 acres of surplus land in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, into a beacon of hope for those struggling to find affordable housing. After moving to the area to build a medical clinic, they found themselves in a unique position where they could make a difference. Upon meeting the chair of the Antigonish Affordable Housing Society at a benefit concert, they decided to put their spare land to use for the greater good.

Their ambitious plan encompasses a range of housing options, from affordable units to transitional housing for individuals escaping domestic violence. The couple aims to address the ongoing struggle many local residents face—long hours of work at nursing homes for wages that simply don't cover living costs. By donating the land, they hope to create a community that is not just functional, but vibrant and welcoming for everyone.

This heartwarming gesture illustrates how a little thought and kindness can help alleviate a pressing social issue. As it turns out, sometimes the best way to make room for more in your life is to share what you have. This couple is proving that even the smallest acts of giving can lead to monumental changes.
