Late-Night Stabbing in San Ysidro Parking Lot Shocks Community

In the early hours of Thursday morning, a potentially mundane parking lot in San Ysidro became the scene of violence as a man was stabbed multiple times while sitting in his vehicle. The incident, which took place around 2:50 a.m., left the victim—identified as a 30-year-old Hispanic male—with injuries to his face and arm, though thankfully, they were deemed non-life-threatening.

The attacker, described by police as a bearded Hispanic male in his 50s dressed in gray, approached the victim without provocation before fleeing the scene. While the victim managed to escape and received medical attention, the assailant remains at large, prompting police to seek help from the community in identifying him. It's a stark reminder that even casual trips to the parking lot can suddenly become dangerous.

As authorities determine the motive behind this shocking act, questions linger about safety in our neighborhoods. What's supposed to be a quick stop can quickly spiral out of control—hopefully, the police can catch this suspect before someone else is put in harm’s way. Maybe it's time to keep those doors locked even during the briefest of pit stops!
